PooPatrol, by Snaps Studio AB · Effective 2026-06-01
PooPatrol helps you track your bowel movements and spot patterns in your gut health. Because that's personal health information, we built the app to be private by design: your logs live on your device, and most of the app works without an account, the internet, or sharing anything with anyone. This policy explains what we collect, when, and why — in plain language.
Everything you record is saved in a private database on your phone. By default it stays there — we can't see it, and it isn't sent anywhere unless you turn on sync. Each entry can include:
If you want to back up your data or use it across more than one device, you can sign in — with Google on Android or Apple on iOS. Signing in is entirely optional and not required to use the app.
When you sync, the following is stored on our servers, tied to your account:
We don't collect your name, profile photo, or phone number. Your local copy always stays on your device too — syncing adds a backup, it doesn't move your data away from you.
PooPatrol never tracks your location in the background. Location is used only if you explicitly choose to attach where an entry happened, and only at that moment. You can decline the permission and use the entire app without it.
To understand how the app is used and to fix problems, we use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. These collect anonymous usage events (for example, that a screen was opened) and, when the app crashes, technical diagnostics such as your device model, operating system version, app configuration, and an IP-derived region. The content of your health logs is never included in analytics or crash reports, and none of this information is used to identify you personally.
The free version of the app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to show and measure ads. We never share your entries or health data with advertisers. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings, and upgrading to Pro removes ads entirely.
PooPatrol is free with an optional Pro subscription. All payments are handled by the App Store on iOS and the Google Play Store on Android — the app never sees or stores your card or payment details. We only receive confirmation of your purchase so we can unlock Pro features and record when your subscription is valid until.
We only ask for what the app needs: internet and network access (for sync, ads, and analytics), notifications (for the optional logging reminders), and location (only when you choose to attach a place to an entry). The app does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library, and it does not connect to Apple Health or Google Fit.
You can set optional reminders to log your entries. These are scheduled and shown entirely on your device — we don't send push notifications from our servers. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app or your device settings.
Data sent during sync is transmitted over encrypted connections, and on-device data is stored in the app's private storage. That said, no method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information.
PooPatrol is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
The app relies on these services, each with its own privacy policy:
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the revised version here and update the effective date above.
